SUPER DUPLEX 1.4410
1.4410 is a corrosion resistant austenitic-ferritic super duplex steel. Its austenite / ferrite structure and small grain size give the material its hardness, strength and toughness. Super duplex steel 1.4410, also known as F53, is used for components where conventional austenite and corrosion resistant duplex steels (1.4462) cannot meet the corrosion requirements. Steel shows excellent corrosion resistance in chlorine-containing environments, can be used in places where sulfur gas passes and in pressure vessel production.
Duplex steels are divided into two groups:
Standard-Duplex (z.B. 1.4462): Most common with over 20% chromium, about 5% nickel and about 3% molybdenum.
Super Duplex (z.B. 1.4410 and 1.4501): Suitable for demanding applications, contains higher chromium content, nickel content and molybdenum.
