440B/1.4112

It is one of the stainless steel grades with the highest degree of hardness due to its high carbon content. In addition to high hardness, its toughness and corrosion resistance are also very high. It can reach 50 HRc hardness values with heat treatment. It increases the mechanical values and toughness of the molybdenum material it contains. It also provides relative preservation of its mechanical properties at increasing temperatures. Machinability is relatively good, as is the case with general martensitic grades.

1.4112 is popularly known as AISI 440B.
