420 C / 1.4034
It is a martensitic steel that can be hardened to 1.4034 (420C). 1.4034 (420C), also known under the classification of AISI 420. Although it has the same chemical analysis as 1.4021 (420A) and 1.4028 (420B), it can reach higher hardness and mechanical values than both materials due to its carbon content.
Corrosion resistance is the same as 1.4021 (420A) and 1.4028 (420B).
It can be used in cutting tools, food industry and surgical instruments.
This material is resistant to moderately aggressive media. Achieves optimum corrosion resistance in hardened condition with ground surface
It is similar to 1.2083 material with its chemical composition and properties.
Medical Industry cutting tools, machinery manufacturing industry, cutlery industry, medicine and Pharmaceutical industry. It is also widely used in the automotive industry and the bearing industry.
