15-5PH/1.4545
1.4545 (15-5PH) has high yield strength and hardness, moderate corrosion resistance and high wear resistance. 15-5 PH is one of the most important hardenable steels that can be aged. Developed after 17-4 PH for better material toughness, less dependent on the mechanical properties of 1.4845 wall thickness.
H1100 and H1150 allow use in the low temperature range. Excellent impact strength is also given at sub-zero temperatures.
Due to its corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties, 15-5 PH steel is suitable for use in marine environments.
15-5 PH is susceptible to crevice corrosion in still sea water, but not to intergranular corrosion
Usage areas:
15-5 PH is used in the machinery manufacturing industry, the chemical industry, and the paper and wood industry. Other application areas are used in medical technology, oil industry, shipbuilding, aerospace industry applications.
15-5PH material can be preferred where the mechanical and corrosion resistance of Martensitic steels is insufficient.
