DUPLEX 1.4462

1.4462 is a corrosion and acid resistant austenitic-ferritic chromium-nickel-molybdenum steel that exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to cavitation and surface corrosion.

The nickel content is lower than conventional austenite, which makes 1.4462 steel economically advantageous. 1.4462 steel is magnetic.

Duplex steel 2205 is used in the construction industry, food industry, chemical industry, machinery applications, marine industry, electronic equipment, and the oil industry.

Duplex steels are divided into two groups:

Standard-Duplex (z.B. 1.4462): Most common with over 20% chromium, about 5% nickel and about 3% molybdenum.

Super Duplex (z.B. 1.4410 and 1.4501): Suitable for demanding applications, contains higher chromium content, nickel content and molybdenum.
